Peninsula Vision Statement

Dear Peninsula Community Member:

I am writing to introduce the new Peninsula Vision Statement and provide some background on its origins and how we intend to utilize it. Key members and leaders within our community have been asking for a vision statement since shortly after Ocean Atlantic purchased The Peninsula. Initially, I pushed back on the request feeling that it would somehow be used to second guess decisions made by the ownership and possibly confining us to too narrow of a path that prohibited the flexibility needed when directing such a large project through ever-changing market conditions. After all, we had just settled on the community and were trying to tackle the sales and marketing components, the clubhouse design and construction and other seemingly more pressing issues, making a vision statement seem immaterial at the time.

Over time, however, I’ve grown to see the wisdom of having guiding principles outlining a shared vision for the Peninsula that can be used to steer our decisions by providing a stronger and clearer sense of who we are and the type of club and community we strive to foster. I found that I would personally refer back to what I wanted for the Peninsula when making virtually every decision related to the community and learned that my internal vision was remarkably similar to that of most other long-time members and, really, to that of the original developer. It became unfair in a sense and counterproductive to continue keeping that vision unspoken. We should all understand the vision for a community into which we have invested so much of our time, money and hopes of happiness. It is only through that understanding that each of us can play a role in espousing our vision and helping to turn this vision into reality. So, at long last, the Peninsula Vision:

Our Vision

The Peninsula is a high-end, private community and club with extensive amenities, ranging from an award-winning Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course to a private beach with wave pool, that strives to be second to none in terms of quality, appearance and overall homeowner/member lifestyle and experience. Our objective is to have each and every member and their family feel warmly welcomed by our club and community and experience a sense of acceptance, happiness and excitement every time they come through our gates.

Our Commitment

The Peninsula ownership and staff will continuously seek opportunities for improvement in our facilities, amenities, social activities programming and other components of our club lifestyle. We are dedicated to every aspect of our members’ experience at the club and community and will always be searching for ways to improve upon that experience.

At the Peninsula, we foster a culture of respect and friendliness between our members and staff and encourage all to treat their neighbors, co-members, club staff, and any others that have achieved access through our gates as a part of their Peninsula family. We understand that warm, friendly behavior is infectious and our members’ happiness is largely a factor of the quality of their personal interactions. Club management will seek out staff that represent a good fit for our culture of happiness in which treating our members and their co-workers in a friendly, respectful and warm fashion comes naturally to them.

Giving Back

We recognize that those of us fortunate enough to have achieved a level of success capable of allowing access to the Peninsula lifestyle have an opportunity to give back to the people and communities that are important to us. There is no greater source of sustained happiness than that which comes from helping others and making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. The Peninsula ownership, management and members commit to supporting a multitude of opportunities for our members to get involved with charitable endeavors in our greater community.

Hopefully the above is similar to your personal understanding of the type of community in which you live and the neighbors and club staff with whom you interact. As we make decisions for the betterment of our club and community we will be looking to this vision to guide us.
