img_5103While Summer may be winding down, for those of us who are fortunate enough to be able to experience The Peninsula at this time of year.. enjoy! The leaves are about to start changing, the days will get shorter, and mornings will grow chillier as the warmth of summer fades away. Although we will miss long summer days and warm nights, we have a brand new, exciting season approaching! We should all continue to enjoy “Our Community” as much as we can at this time of year.

We’re expecting over 100 golfers from within The Peninsula and friends and supporters living off property. We expect participants to start arriving at 11:00am for the 12:30pm start. Golf will be followed by dinner poolside at 5:30pm which also includes a Silent Auction and Super Raffle. All proceeds from the day’s events go directly to Clothing Our Kids. As most of you know, many Sussex County families do not have adequate resources to meet all of their financial needs. The goal of Clothing Our Kids is to provide immediate help with school clothing. The endeavor impacts self-esteem, the probability of better school attendance and higher levels of achievement. Ultimately, these kids stay on the path to become productive community

14480546_533526800179579_5163933487744704141_o“Winter WonderFEST in Lewes is up and running!” says Peter Briccotto.  “And we welcome everyone in the Community to be among the first to inaugurate and participate in this fantastic holiday event.” Winter WonderFEST begins on November 18th and ends January 1st.
Briccotto, the producer of Winter WonderFEST, is referring to the just-announced “Light Spectacular”, which will illuminate a 2.5 mile car tour of Cape Henlopen State Park. The event kicks off with “Dashing thru the Show”, a 5-K Fun Run and 2-mile walk through the illuminated park on Nov.18.  The “Light Spectacular” show will continue through the holiday season.   Then, on Nov. 25, Briccotto and non-profit Festival of Cheer, Inc. will host a community grand opening of the “Christmas Village” Winter Carnival at the Cape May-Lewes Ferry terminal.  “One of our goals is to give Sussex County families and visitors the opportunity to create lasting holiday memories for their families,” notes Briccotto.  “Yes, there will be a full scale ferris wheel among the carnival rides!”
